Habitat for Humanity Affiliates Raise Over $50,000 for Hurricane Relief

Following last year’s catastrophic hurricane season, Habitat for Humanity of New Mexico received thousands of dollars in donations from concerned individuals and businesses to go towards rebuilding efforts throughout the Gulf Coast.

We are pleased to announce that our local Habitat affiliates raised $51,482 to go towards hurricane relief. In an effort to forward your donations to help the affiliates most impacted by the hurricanes, we worked closely with Habitat for Humanity International staff to identify two deserving Gulf Coast affiliates:

• Bayou Area HFH in Thibodaux, LA.
• East St. Tammany HFH in Slidell,LA.

Both of these affiliates were severely impacted by the hurricanes, but are ready to begin rebuilding. We donated $25,741 to each affiliate with instructions that the funding be used for construction purposes.
